The Customer

This RBOC is one of the largest operating companies in the US. There are 1,600 central offices across many states, with thousands of internal users having the need to access tens of thousands of elements on the IP accessible network.

 

The Challenge & Resolution

The challenge and resolution is to replace the existing home-grown access control solution that does not meet the required security rules on the ever-growing IP accessible network elements. The solution must be delivered on a solution that has up-time reliability and can handle many thousands of users. This was resolved by the implementation of Passwerks.

The Challenge & Resolution

Based on existing staff, the ILEC could not keep up with the growing number of internal users and elements. Tracking who was doing what to what and when was becoming laborious, costly, and inefficient. By deploying Passwerks, the network wire line group was able to control this ever-changing environment. How to control the ever-moving users and element passwords without adding staff? Cellular has deployed Ineo's acess solution and is controlling all users with fewer staff than estimated. This was resolved by the implementation of Passwerks.

A long distance provider is a subsidiary of a larger corporation. It provides long distance services to residential and small business customers in nine southeastern states, long distance services to enterprise customers with locations throughout the country, and wholesale long distance primarily to wireless communications providers, smaller wireline telecommunications providers, and unaffiliated long distance providers.

 

The Challenge & Resolution

The long distance provider has found the solution it needed. All users simply log in with one password and then click on the element they need to go to.
